I moved from my home state of Arkansas to Boston in 2010 to find a job in publishing.
I read nearly every spare minute that I’m not tweeting, and have recently merged this voracious appetite with a fashionable twist—hence the blog name Books Are The New Black. You know how black is a flattering color on just about everyone? Well, books are the same. Everyone looks better with a little knowledge!
So, in addition to weekly book reviews, this blog shows you how to wear your favorite books on Fashion Friday—of course, buying these outfits would leave most people as broke as the Bennet sisters, but you can always improvise. Trust me, Mr. Darcy wouldn’t give a flying banana whether you’re outfitted by Forever21 or Chanel.
Ratings:
1 star = I hated it. These usually don’t make it to the blog.
2 stars = I didn’t like it, but wasn’t terrible.
3 stars = I liked it but it wasn’t really my cup-o-tea.
4 stars = I really liked it and would probably read it again.
5 stars = I loved it and would read it again and again and again.

I love this blog. You, my dear, are incredible. Much love!
Just passed your entertaining blog to three of my dear friends. Hope they enjoy as much as I do!
You’re in a great city. Ellen loved the bookstore on the street. Thanks for touring us around the city that loves books almost as much as you do!

Just saw your review of my book, “How the French Invented Love.” Many thanks for your generous words. I loved the high-fashioned paring with clothes and shoes.
